If your objective is to get 500 people to do the Thriller dance in Grand Central Station, Twitter, with its penchant for all things viral, is your best friend. The NYPD (which also Twitters, by the way) might even decide to let you get away with it. But if you're trying to overthrow a tyrannical government somewhere in the Middle East, you may want to think twice.
...but it wasn't decisive in affecting the outcome - or necessarily in providing a clear picture of events on the ground.
