A quiet day in Mogadishu?

Looking for rule of law and security -regardless of the cost in freedom (and who can blame folks like this fellow when 'individual freedom' has brought years of absolute anarchy?).

But we had five years of anarchy with every man wanting to be the king of his own area, not thinking of the common man. So people are happy that the factions have come to an end.

I live with my aunt and she is very happy at the arrival of the Islamic Courts because they come with Islamic morality. The old warlords were truly hated. There is now one party in Mogadishu and it is Islam.

How long, though, until Somalis tire of this? Or this? Or this?

I imagine one could make the argument that this is the price we pay for hightailing it out of Somalia in 93-94 after Americans were stunned to discover nation-building is difficult and dangerous. As we saw in the aftermath of the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan (followed by its civil war), the unintended consequences of leaving failed states to themselves can be quite heavy.
